Post 32 9/11 - First Responder Event

On September 11, 2025, Livonia Post 32 hosted a special event to honor the first responders of the city of Livonia. The post held a memorial dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 attacks and presented awards to officers from the Livonia Police and Fire Departments in recognition of their bravery and commitment to duty. Michigan American Legion Commander Roger Avie was the keynote speaker, and the mayor of Livonia also addressed the attendees. Following the award ceremonies, a delicious dinner was served.

Tripp Cantwell Memorial

It is with much sadness that I report to you that our long-time VSO employee, Tripp Cantwell, has passed away. Tripp has been a fantastic employee & VSO for over 20 years with the Michigan American Legion. He has battled his cancer for a long time, and now he is at rest.

Tripp’s memorial will take place on October 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Livonia Post 32, with a light lunch to follow the memorial service.

Dear Friends,

The Cathedral Church of St. Paul will offer its annual Veterans' Day Service on Sunday November 9th, 2025 at 4:00 pm.  Our intent is to express profound appreciation for all who have dedicated themselves to protecting and serving others, while affirming our shared belief that war is never the answer and that peace may guide the future. We will honor Veterans and First Responders, including those in state and local police and fire departments, whose daily service safeguards our communities.

We hope that you will join us in person. The service will also be livestreamed on our YouTube channel. You will find a link by going to our website at detroitcathedral.org, clicking on the worship button, and then the "Services and Bulletins" button. The link is located at the top of the page. The Cathedral is located at 4800 Woodward Avenue (at the southeast corner of Woodward & Warren), in the heart of Detroit's midtown Cultural Center. Free, lighted parking is available behind the Cathedral, accessible from East Warren Avenue via Cathedral Lane.

Fall Conference Training

What if leadership training didn't feel like training? What if it felt like swapping stories, sharing wins, and finding better ways to serve — together? That's what's happening at Fall Conference on Sept. 27. No boring lectures. No "gotcha" moments. Just real talk with fellow Legion leaders.
