Invitation To U.S. Army National Day of Honor Flag Raising and 250th Birthday Celebration:
Coleman A. Young American Legion Post 202 will be attending the event outlined below. This event is open to all and an invitation for our District Posts to attend.
The Detroit-Wayne Joint Building Authority is hosting the US Army's 250th Birthday at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center on June 13, 2025. US Army Commander LTC Quentin McCart and DWJBA Board Chair Sharon Madison invite you to the celebration. This is a free, family-friendly community event. All are welcome. Veterans are encouraged to attend to be recognized, regardless of their branch of military service. Refreshments will be served. The celebration hours are:
8:00 to 08:30 am - Flag Raising Ceremony and Army Birthday Proclamation
12:00 – 1230 pm – Army Future Soldier Swear-in and Cake Cutting Ceremony
8:30 to 4:00 pm – Army Soldier Interactive exhibit and military vehicles on display for tours
