| On behalf of the Education and Scholarship Committee, I want to extend an invitation for you to join us at this year's Department Oratorical Contest.
The contest will be held in the Michigan History Museum in Lansing on Saturday, March 28, 2026. We started with 45 contestants throughout the state and have narrowed it down to just five. We have students from each Zone competing for a chance at $2,000 at the Department level and $25,000 at the National level.
The Michigan History Museum is located at: 702 W. Kalamazoo St. Lansing, MI 48915.
Space is limited to 200 guests, so reserve a spot soon. Please let me know if you plan to attend the event by clicking the link below and completing the RSVP form online.
The contest will start at 12:00 p.m. in the Forum located on the museum's first floor (map is linked below). Plan to arrive around 11:30 a.m. to give yourself time to park and find a seat. There is no cost for parking at the museum on the weekend or for attending the event. You can dress in business casual, and be sure to wear your Legion or SAL cap if you can.
